Library Use and User Conduct
General Guidelines
Quiet Study:
The Library common areas are not quiet study areas. The Library has one Quiet Study Room located behind the Library Instruction Room available.
Food, Drink, Tobacco Products, Cell Phones, etc.
Help keep the library clean.
Keep all drinks covered and dispose of containers properly.
No food or drinks near the computers.
All tobacco products are prohibited in the library.
Turn off or quiet cell phones in the library - take calls outside the library
Respect others - keep noise to a minimum.
Code of Conduct
Lakeland Library users will to adhere to the Student Conduct Code as published on the Lakeland Community College website stated below:
The college’s goal is excellence in education and scholarly pursuit. It is the purpose of the Student Conduct Code not only to protect the health, safety, welfare, and property of the college and its students, but to preserve the intellectual and educational atmosphere which prevails throughout the college community and to provide the opportunity for all members of the college community to attain their educational objectives.

Computer User Conduct
Lakeland Library computer users will to adhere to the Student Conduct Code p. 159 as stated below:

Abuse or inappropriate use of college computers, computer equipmnt or facilities including but not limited to: (1) unauthorized entry into a file to use, read, or change the contents, or for any other purpose; (2) unauthorized transfer of a file; (3) unauthorized use of another individual's indentification and password; (4) use of computer facilities to interfere with the work of another student, faculty member or college official; (5) use of computer facilities to create, send or receive an obscene, harassing or abusive message; (6) use of computer facilities to interfere with normal operation of the college computer system; (7) use of computing facilities to create, view, disseminate, receive, download or possess pornographic, obscene or illegal documents or images (based on local standards of Kirtland and Lake County); (8) use of computing facilities to download, install, copy or later software without permission of the appropriate college official; (9) use of computer facilities for any commerical use or for personal financial gain; and (10) any other unauthorized use of computing time.
