IMPORTANT: MLA recently updated its style guide. Many websites and manuals have not yet had a chance to update their MLA information. Check with your instructor to confirm which version of MLA you will be required to use. Lakeland Library has the newest edition of the MLA Style Manual and Guide to Scholarly Publishing. The OWL (Online Writing Lab) at Purdue has created a webpage detailing some of the changes to the citation style; it can be found at MLA Update 2009: http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/557/15/.
