Field Searches

Specify fields to search by using field abbreviations. Fields available for in the Lakeland catalog are a: (author), t: (title), s: (subject), and n: (note.) Use Boolean operators to combine field searches. When combining field searches, enclose each field search in parenthesis.

Examples of how to format a field search are below.

Author: a:twain
retrieves the author Mark Twain.
Title: t:huck*
retrieves The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
Subject: (s:iraq)
retrieves items on the subject of Iraq
Note: n:DVD
retrieves items in DVD format

(The note field contains format and special feature information like closed captioning.)

Combined: (s:iraq) AND (t:weapons of mass destruction)

retrieves titles with "weapons of mass destruction" about the subject Iraq.
