Stopwords are ignored by the catalog

Stopwords are short frequently occurring words that slow the processing of a search. To optimize search speed, most catalogs and databases have a list of stopwords that the system ignores.

The following are examples of common stopwords:

To speed a search, leave stop words out

Title Search: THE FIRM could be entered as FIRM

Keyword Search: GILBERT AND SULLIVAN could be entered as GILBERT SULLIVAN
